Rinn Shijo Takasegawa

Really liked our stay at Rinn Shijo, it’s in a perfect location next to so many bars and restaurants and close enough to Gion and Pontocho and there is also a subway really close by to get you to most of the main sites. It is about 40 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station but luckily the reception office to drop off your bags is nearby and they courier them for you so that was super useful so we could continue with our day. The machiya has everything you should need for your stay, and was really comfortable. The stairs are steep but I wouldn’t overly say so and if you watch your step you’ll be absolutely fine. The outdoors area is really lovely and a nice touch to enjoy a drink.

Such a beautiful traditional house. It is in walking distance of most if kyotos sights. If you use the shijo Kyoto station it’s a simple 2 stops to Kyoto. The staff do warn you that it can be a little noisy and a little on the light side. This comes with the joy of staying here. Wear an eye mask and you will be fine. The internal steps are steep but once you master them it’s a piece of cake. The little deck out the back is fun to sit on and watch the world go by

This is a traditional Machiya in Kyoto, it’s well equipped and there is plenty of space for two people, the bedroom is on the first floor while the bathroom with shower and toilet are on ground floor. I particularly liked the availability of space, the location, and the light.

A great, small traditional house in a nice Kyoto district. I loved the Rinn staff, they were very helpful and did a great job explaining everything and getting us to the location. Loved everything about our stay.

Position next to the canal, size -plenty of space, decor, bath, kitchen great final accommodation.
